The George Washington Carver Science Fair is a volunteer run organization in Philadelphia that supports science fairs for elementary and secondary school children. Established in 1973, the fair provides opportunities for hundreds of local students to learn about the scientific method and conduct hands-on science experiments. The fair is organized by a committee of volunteers from across the area, including members of the School District of Philadelphia, Franklin Institute, Academy of Natural Sciences, Drexel and Temple University. Sarah serves on the Carver committee and W lab members, along with other graduate students at Temple, participate in judging posters and interviewing students at the Fair. For more information on the Carver Fair go to: www.carversciencefair.org.
