Summer research 2016 is up and running in the W lab and we have three great new undergrads on board and one returning superstar!
Olivia Spergel- starting in the W lab as a freshman with no college chemistry under her belt, Olivia is now a seasoned veteran of the lab. Olivia is supported as a Presidents Scholar and she has taken her talents to BK’s hood where they are working on natural product applications of our ring expansion reactions.
Aimee Dubin- killed it in Sarah’s Orgo I class and decided to join up with us for some summer research as part of Temple’s Undergraduate Research Program (URP). She has teamed up with Jen working on expanding the scope of our ring expansion reactions.
Brandon Bloomer- formerly of the Sieburth laboratory, Brandon was interested in working on some organometallic chemistry and has joined forces with Felipe to develop novel CH activation reactions using our HVI reagents.
Emily Laughlin- Emily is the recipient of the prestigious Frances Velay Fellowship promoting women in STEM. The program is geared towards getting more women into advanced degrees and leadership positions in STEM programs and we are thrilled to host Emily as part of the inaugural class of fellows. We expect great things from her as she teams up with Jess to develop new chiral HVI reagents with amine scaffolds.
