W Lab undergraduates Maria Velopolcek, Nate Greenwood and Aimee Dubin were recognized for their outstanding undergraduate research at the annual Temple Undergraduate Research Symposium on October 7th. Maria and Nate also brought home two second place awards! Congrats to both the students and their mentors!
What have our undergrads been up to:
Nate has been working with Jess on the synthesis of novel chiral hypervalent iodine scaffolds.
Maria has been working with Mell on applying our ring expansion to the synthesis of novel anti-cancer molecules.
Aimee, supported as a Frances Velay Fellow this past summer, has worked extensively on oxidative ring expansions and now has moved on to novel (mono)cationic hypervalent iodine scaffolds.
